Prof. Ray OSullivan

Prof. O'Sullivan qualified in medicine from University College Cork in June 1992. He initially trained in General Surgery for almost 3 years before embarking on his career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He has worked in the main teaching hospitals (Coombe, Rotunda, Holles Street) in Ireland before spending almost 4 years in Sydney, Australia. There he underwent fellowship training in Laparoscopic Surgery under the guidance of the world renowned Sydney Women's Endosurgery Centre (www.swec.com.au). In addition Prof. O'Sullivan worked in the Urogynaecology Unit in St. George’s Hospital (www.pelvicfloorunit.com.au) completing a fellowship under the tuition of Prof. Kate Moore.
Following his return to Ireland he worked as Assistant Master in the National Maternity Hospital and then was appointed as Consultant in Holles Street, The Rotunda and the Mater Hospital. In 2006 he was appointed as Consultant Senior Lecturer and moved to his present location in St. Luke’s in Kilkenny.
His main areas of interest are problems of the pelvic floor (prolapse and incontinence) and laparoscopic (key-hole surgery). In addition Prof. O'Sullivan lectures in the Royal College of Surgeons undergraduates during their rotation to Kilkenny and along with Prof. Walter Prendiville and other colleagues who run and direct surgical skills courses here in Ireland and internationally.
Mr. Trevor Hayes
MB BCh FRCS MRCOG
Trevor Hayes is a Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology with almost 20 years’ experience in Medicine. Mr. Hayes qualified in medicine from University College Cork in 1995. Post – Graduation he obtained accredited training on the West of Scotland Scheme and received a surgical fellowship from Edinburgh. He was a research fellow in Bath specialising in endometrial ablation. Mr Hayes is a consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny and has been a Director of the Women’s Health Group since 2006. Twice named ‘Obstetrician of the Year’ by Maternity and Infant Magazine 2009 and 2013. Trevor continues to work on his specialist clinical and research interests of urogynaecology and minimal access surgery.
Mrs. Jo Scobie
MM PgDMUS DPSM RM RGN
Jo Scobie is a Registered Midwife Sonographer, with over 29 years experience of both Irish and Scottish midwifery practice. Jo earned her Master's Degree in Midwifery at Glasgow University then followed up this with a Post Graduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Jo moved back to Ireland in 2007 and now works as a Specialist Midwife Sonographer with the Women’s Health Group.
Jo is a member of British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and The International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG). Jo regularly attends professional ultrasound update courses in both Dublin and London.
Jo has 2 children so is in a position to offer empathy, professional and practical support to meet the needs of modern day birth and parenting.
Miss Jean Donegan
Jean qualified from the Leinster Business Institute having completed The Young Executive Business Programme and went on to work in the financial industry. She began working in the medical industry in 2005 and joined the Womens Health Group in 2006 as the Practice Manager. Her role involves the day to day running of the clinic.
